Department: Underwriting
Reporting to: Head of Underwriting
Overall Responsibility
This position manages all company reinsurance matters and ensures that the net-net position of the Company is adequately protected.
The position also plays the role of a branch supervisor.
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting individual departments with all reinsurance related issues
Using the system to reserve all treaty coding issues
Ensuring that the company deals with reputable reinsurance companies at all times
Timely processing of statutory returns
Processing and negotiating competitive treaty renewals terms
Placement of facultative business. Both inward and outward.
Preparing reinsurance reports for management.
Ensuring timely processing of recoveries
Ensuring that the company’s reinsurance programs are adequate and cost effective
Processing of branch credit notes and refunds
Processing of Insurance Premium Finance applications
Management of COMESA yellow cards
Processing credit notes and policy cancellations and other relevant endorsements from the branches
Any other duties assigned by management in line with task
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business from recognized university
5 papers in ACII or equivalent
4 years relevant experience
